Why we only do long-term pod

We get a lot of inquiries for short-term, hourly, equity or project-based contracts. And we always say no. There is only 1 type of contract we do and that is long-term (6-month min), self-managed tech pod, where each pod consists of an English-speaking tech lead, 3 or 4 devs and 1 QA. If a client has a bigger project, then he would hire 2 or 3 pods. This results in:

• a highly-vetted team that understands the client's architecture deeply and will henceforth contribute meaningful work
• a high-velocity team whose members understand each other's cadence, strengths/weaknesses, and personality
• a long-term relationship where both parties know and trust each other well
• a simple pricing model that is unencumbered by overhead (time-tracking, micro-managing, time spent on-boarding and off-boarding)
• a cash transaction that doesn't have inherent equity risks
• a fixed monthly pricing so both parties can plan ahead for the year

Of course there will be cases where the client is unhappy w/ the pod and its productivity. It happens.  That is why we encourage the client to work w/ us in interviewing the pod members. We also offer a 1-month trial period as well. And the doors are always open if the client wants to plan a trip to Vietnam.  It is a beautiful country with amazing food after all.
