Recently, Trump suspended the H1-B program, potentially keeping half a million highly skilled workers out of USA and affecting thousands of businesses, especially those in the high tech industry. This is a maddeningly dumb move as it stifles innovation, worsens labor cost, slows growth and will leave thousands upon thousands of jobs unfilled.
However this move further emboldens us at Black Gibbon to double down our efforts in recruiting and keeping the best engineers we can find in Vietnam. We expect many US companies will in turn pivot and find software engineers outside of the country. The world is flat. Great talents exist everywhere. A blind and destructive ban by Trump has no place in this connected and free world.
