Ramp down plan

Advice

Once we finish a build/engagement we always offer our client a ramp down plan. This usually lasts a month and includes mostly invisible works. Things like:

  • work on last min critical tickets
  • backlog non critical tickets
  • performance improvements
  • minor feature changes (UI/functionalities)
  • code refactoring/cleanup
  • backlog tickets
  • bug fixes
  • documentation
  • knowledge transfer sessions with client's team

The purpose is to tighten loose ends and guarantee work continuity. We find that most clients are happy with this plan if they are aware of this at the start of the project (so they can allocate the budget).

We have the full team for this month and charge the client full rate for it.
